National Board Virtual Information Session  Complimentary  A 60-minute complimentary virtual information session to help you decide if this National Board Journey is for you.  This session will discuss:

The Network also has information  sessions for NM teachers who receive the NMPED scholarship and for Advanced candidates who did not achieve certification and are continuing the certification process.

Candidate Retreats  $25 On select Saturdays throughout the school year the Network offers virtual workshops for initial, retake and MOC candidates. 

The benefits of these workshops include clarifying directions, getting all your questions answered, and collaborating with others. Workshops throughout the school year are focused on Components 2, 3 and 4 which have a submission deadline of mid-May.

Content Conversations

Two days after retreat, those who attend the Saturday session, will have access to break out rooms by content to have time to talk with other candidates in the same certificate content area.

 Component 1  $55

Component 1 has dedicated a workshop beginning in March, to prepare candiates for the testing window for Component 1 which begins March 1st to Mid-June. 

The Network Component 1 class covers everything you will need in order to prepare for your Assessment. 

  • What to expect at the Assessment Center
  • How the C1 Assessment is scored
  • Using your Standards to study for the Selected Response Exercises
  • Create your own study guide
  • Use the sample Constructed Response Exercises and Rubrics to create practice essay questions.
Individual PLF Support  $330 per component

The NMNBCT Network encourages all candidates to obtain a Professional Learning Facilitator (PLF) to provide guidance and support for each component beyond what the Candidate Retreats offer. A PLF can work with you individually or within a small group answering questions, facilitating discussions, and giving you specific feedback on your writing for each Component and MOC. Service support available October-May.

 Additional Readings  $60 One-time Reading

Candidates can pay to have a trained, affiliated PLF read through one entire component and make comments based on the level 4 rubric. Candidates can expect to get feedback within one week after sending their work. Service available March-May.

Individual Consults Q and A $40 You get a one-on-one 30 minute virtual meeting appointment with a trained PLF to get all your questions answered. Get clarification on instructions, brainstorm ideas, create a plan, etc. Service available August-May.
Professional Learning Facilitator (PLF Training) $180 This is a 16-hour training required to become an affiliated PLF to support national board candidates.
